Native species thrive where we live, work and play

Transforming Biodiversity Conference 2017

14-16 November  2017

Haere mai and welcome!

Cape to City and Poutiri Ao ō Tāne are ground-breaking and collaborative ecological restoration projects in Te Matau a Māui/Hawke’s Bay, along the eastern coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

We are working to restore native species across 34,000 hectares of mainly primary productive farmland.

Our vision is to bring native species back to Hawke’s Bay to thrive as part of the landscape – and our lives.

There has been a great amount of interest from a wide range of people wanting to know more about what we are learning from the Cape to City and Poutiri Ao ō Tāne projects.  ‘Transforming Biodiversity: Challenging the Boundaries’ Conference will be a three day national conference on 14-16 November 2017. The conference will be held at the Napier Conference Centre in Hawke’s Bay.

This is an opportunity to find out detail about what we have been learning over the last four years in large scale ecological restoration and landscape scale predator pest management.  The conference will look at the big picture of biodiversity restoration in New Zealand and also consider some practical pathways to achieving this goal.

Cape to City and its sister project Poutiri Ao ō Tāne will be key topics and the conference will include presentations and field trips to both projects.

I look forward to welcoming you to Napier this November.
